"We do everything so automatically that we have forgotten the poignancy of smell, of physical anguish, of tactile sensations of all kinds." ~ Lygia Clark

This fall, Sensing Worlds invites you to slow down, deeply listen, and befriend the inner landscapes of sensation, movement, and imagination. In an intimate group, we create a circle of belonging where your inner world can be expressed, witnessed, and celebrated, sharing and discovering in a safe, curious community.
What to expect
A 2-hour in person weekly gathering in a group of up to 12 participants.
Each session is guided by a theme and a creative invitation. We begin by checking in and exploring embodied practices to arrive in the body (mindful movement, somatic tools, contact or hands-on exercises), cultivating a deep sense of relaxation and grounded presence. From gentle, subtle gestures, we move into more dynamic, effortless movement, shifting from aloneness to togetherness within a shared, intersubjective space.
Imagination and gesture are woven through writing, drawing, and playful exploration, and participants are invited to share reflections. Sessions move through the body, ritual, presence, and intimate expression, all within a safe, warm environment that supports self-inquiry, kinship, and community.

Testimonials:
"Sensing Worlds with Guadalupe Martinez was an incredibly transformative and grounding experience. The course came at a time in my life that was shaken up with uncertainty and difficulty and our time together each week was something I looked forward to. Guadalupe is a skilled and compassionate instructor that encouraged exploration and curiousity in our own creative processes while also providing prompts, ideas and techniques as a jumping off point. Sensing Worlds is a moment in time that I credit to helping me become more connected, curious and confident in my own creativity and feeling a greater sense of belonging in the world around me."
- Alexandria (Sensing Worlds, Summer 2024)
"Before going through the Sensorial Visualities course I was feeling tense, stuck, and most of all: disembodied. Through the work together I let go of my anxiety of being judged by others, noticing instead my own internalized judgements of myself. I let go of the idea of "pushing" and instead adopted the notion of "holding" space. I also let go of my barriers around emotions and expression. It was transformative, meditative, formative."
~ Chris (Sensorial Visualities Course, Summer 2023)
"Through this course and the connections I made I significantly reduced my social anxiety. I also feel that I largely overcame any sense of disconnection I felt to myself and/or the world around me. The most impactful realization I had during this class considered just how deeply I could feel the reverberation of sound in my body. The degree to which I felt the humming of others was something I would have never expected and left me feeling very uplifted. Sensorial Visualities each week allowed to explore both myself and the world around me. It gave me a strong sense of community and taught me many excellent strategies to ground myself. It came together beautifully in the final performance and exhibition. It was an excellent experience."
~ Leo (Sensorial Visualities Course, Summer 2023)
I would say I was feeling pretty lost with where I was/where I wanted to go. Not really sure about a direction and was just open to new things. Sensorial Visualities gave me a sense of community and embodiment especially being able to be a part of a journey together while witnessing at the same time. It was life changing <3 I felt a real connection with the things we’re learning and not only in a theoretical sense but the sensations we explored and learned together felt like we were teaching our mind through our bodies and that felt very revolutionary for me."
