Tracing Bones, Moving Skin
2022/23
Tracing Bones, Moving Skin is a two–channel video that looks at processes of becoming, transformation, intimacy, and sharing of knowledge among a group of women. The video work depicts part of a process wherein members of Martinez’ fluid “collective-body” CUERPO share moments of care, introspection, and sensorial knowing. Sharing a soft touch, moving and writing together, developing healing-scores, embodying them; each body is a memory, a narrative, converging desires. All are testimonials and caring devices and embodied technologies to heal, to honor the past, embody the present and envision new futures. Performed with Aerial Sunday-Cardinal, Yasmine Whaley-Kalaora, Chipo chipaziwa, Sai Di, and Jelena Markovic.
